Table runner

Really trying to hone my skills as a seamstress in the making. I truly enjoy making things from scratch. I like the sense of pride and accomplishment it makes me feel. Plus, if it turns out good, I get to display it in my home and I can look at it all the time. From time to time, I will be posting things that I have made. No, I will not be doing a step-by-step instruction (unless requested). Most of the things I will be making in the beginning, will be things that I have seen from Pinterest. I don't have enough know how to start creating my own materpieces...yet.

So, yesterday as the boys were taking a nap (that way they wouldn't be cranky as waited for midnight...and yes, this included Brandon lol), I was making a new table runner. I like it. It's quite plain, but a good start . I might go back and make the ends a pointed edge rather than square, but that's for another day.

New Beginnings

As I laid in bed this morning (shortly after midnight, after we rang in the new year), and I was praying (as I do nightly), my prayer was full of thanksgiving to God about the start of a brand new year. The ability to start over and leave old things behind. Having a clear, open path of opportunity to do and try things I haven't in the past. Being able to look forward and know that God's plan is bigger than my own.

I realized, that this grace is what He gives us EVERY day. Not just at the beginning of a new year, but
                                   EVERY.
                                   SINGLE,
                                   DAY.

Why should I be praying this prayer just today? I shouldn't. This must become my daily prayer of thanks and realization that God provides just what I need each and every day, not just at the start of a new year.

So, bring on 2015. But, also bring on every day with the same mentality as if it were a new year.

New post, new year

After some encouragement from a sweet friend, I have decided to get up and blogging again. I won't guarantee that a new post will happen at any given time, yet I plan to post as often as I can. I am excited about all the great things that God is preparing in my life and I can't wait to share! Here, I will be sharing thoughts about my walk with Christ, my life as a mom and also as a "new" crafter!

So, in honor of all that's new...here is a picture of my favorite loves playing in the hallway on this New Year's Eve.
