I am so blessed to be Grady's mom. I feel such a special bond with him, especially since we share the same birthday. What a rare gift that God has given to the both of us. So this past Saturday, we celebrated his 2nd birthday!
I love my new boots Nana!
Grady, my cousin Cameron and me! What are the odds that three cousins all share the same birthday?
This past Saturday we took the boys to the YMCA for their first swim lesson. As I was in the water with Grady (who I deem my "water baby"), I reflected on how the lesson we had relates to God. I know, you're probably thinking, water + God = what? Grady love, love, LOVES the water. He is the first to tell me that it is time to take a bath, simply so he can play and put his head in the water.
So when we got in the water with the other babies and parents, Grady wasn't shy. He splashed and played. He was the star of the class. The instructor told us that we would do each activity 3 times, however, Grady wanted to to them without stopping. Especially, jumping off the side of the pool. All the while, I was holding him through it all. Holding his hands as he jumped in the pool. Placing him back up on the side and guiding him to know when it was time to jump. Now, if it were left up to him, he would climb and jump in his own time.
It makes me think about how God constantly has a hold on us. He is guiding us through each step and letting us reach our goal in His timing. Grady would look at me like "Okay mom. I'm ready." And I would wait until it was just the right time. God knows what is right for us. He knows when it is the perfect time for us to jump and when it is time to wait. If you are awaiting something to happen or wondering where God is, just know that He has it all planned out and in just the right time. I think to many times we are in such a hurry and in a "want it now" society, that we forget God has a plan for us. So I encourage you to take a minute (or more) and talk to God and ask him to show you His plan in His time.
"Congratulations! Your official loan has been paid in full!!!"
These were the words from our finance company letting us know that our car has been paid off. It is such a great feeling to know that we are the official owners of our car and that we are no longer in debt to the company each month. As I reflected on those words, I was reminded of the ultimate price that has been paid for me through Christ.
I am in awe that something as great as salvation, not only was FREE, but was PAID IN FULL the moment I asked Jesus into my heart. There are so many things in this life that aren't free, like our car. How wonderful it is to know that the one thing that truly counts in this life is free!
It makes me sad to think of all the people out there that hear this offer and refuse it for so many silly reasons. Yet, they get a "good deal" in the mail or at the mall and jump right on it.
I am hoping that this journey that the Lord has me on will show the world that salvation is what we all need. Not a car or a house. Not nice clothing or money in our pocket. And it is FREE!!!!!!!
